Wesley Clark went on a Sunday talking head show and blasted John McCain’s military credentials, claiming that he "hasn’t held executive responsibility…" or "commanded troops in wartime" or "ordered bombs to fall."
Dumb move.
McCain’s military service is one of his strongest assets. Obama’s lack of military service is a comparative disadvantage and attacking McCain from this angle only begs a comparison that works to McCain’s advantage. Even dumber was Clark’s questioning McCain’s executive experience, which invites the question of Obama’s executive experience, (none) his accomplishments in the Senate (paltry), and the fact that Obama has served in the Senate less than forty eight months.
Attack your opponent from your strong side, not your weak one. The surrogate trainers inside the Obama camp need to send Clark back to the training room.
